Doug McLean Photographer - Artist - Darkographer
Doug first became interested in photography as a child, when one day his father brought home the
station wagon filled with "stuff", and said "we are building a darkroom." They did indeed build a fully
equiped darkroom, and Doug spent many hours developing photographs taken with his first camera, a simple Kodak X15.
Many years later, Doug visits interesting locations so he can view the world from different angles and capture what he sees.
Doug frequently photographs nature and wildlife, close up and macro subjects, old and antique items, and historic archeticture.
Doug became interested in infra red photography, his interest is deep enough that he had a Nikon D7000 converted
for use as an infra red camera. Infra red photograpnhy offers a unique view of the world that is hidden from visible light.
By combining infra red photography with artistic vision, Doug created and continues to create the unique art you see here.
Darkography prints are truely stunning; online images cannot convey the detail and impact that the prints present.
